The Armstrong County Sheriff’s Office, The Texas Rangers and the Randall County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday continued search efforts in the canyon area of Armstrong County as part of an ongoing investigation. During the course of those search efforts, what appear to be human remains were located. The remains have not been positively identified and will be submitted for forensic examination to assist in determining identity and cause and manner of death. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
The Texas Rangers are the lead investigative agency in this case, and any additional information will be released when appropriate and in coordination with them.
Armstrong County Sheriff Anderson says that they are coordinating with the Texas Rangers, as well as the Randall County Sheriff’s Office throughout this process.
